Change is inevitable

Changes are inevitable: Rajendra P.Gupta

India has come of age. It has seen many changes affecting all the spheres i.e. economic, political, geographical and social. Let’s check what all has happened and what & where will it lead to.

Before independence India was an agrarian economy.

Post Independence – Nehruvian era it was an industrial economy

Now it is the knowledge & service economy.

It was steam engine at the time of Independence and now it is search engine. Times have changed values have changed. Lets see what are the changes and what is the resultant effect

Internet & Mobile communication: The entry of Internet is the second greatest invention in the history of humanity. The first was electricity. Now it is the WWW. (World Wide Web). You can reach anywhere, anyone in no time. It has changed the way we live and communicate. We don’t need to send letters and wait for the delivery and the return response. It takes seconds to shoot e-mail and minutes to get a response at max. You can buy online, love online and also find a life partner online. What a great way to live. We live in a true space age. There have been ills of misuse of this advancement. But all great inventions have pros and cons. Cell phone is both a convenience and a nuisance. Rather it is a convenience in nuisance or nuisance in convenience depends on how we use it. Today, if some one moves out without a cell phone, it is an unimaginable thing. 10 years back no one thought it so. We are speeding our lives. The way businesses are done have changed due to cell phone usage. You can be connected with any dear one any time at any place with this handy gadget. So there are side effects in terms of radiations but who cares? Humanity needs to act more responsibly & rationally as it becomes more advanced

Transport: We started on foot and now we have a foot on the moon. We have conquered the sea and air. We can sail the mightiest oceans and fly faster than the speed of sound with things that are many times heavier than air. VOW. But the evil side of humanity uses this advancement to send missiles and make fighter planes. If Humanity uses the dark side of speed, the result is speedy death

Academic changes: From the ancient texts and universities like Taxila and Nalanda to astronomy, software and medical science. We have come a long way. We are studying future. Life is becoming a study for the future. Education is becoming commoditized. Coaching classes are taking place of gurukuls. Teachers are becoming commercial dealmakers. Earlier Educationists and scientists were not even 10th pass. Be it Kalidasa, Kabir, Arya bhatta, Varamhira Galileo, Einstein o, Mendel or Darwin. Today your knowledge does not count as much as your education does. But the best part is, that the science can predict with precision many celestial events,

Weather forecasts etc. It has averted many disasters. This is a great boon to humanity. The satellites, which are placed for such scientific studies, should not be used for military intelligence. If the space is used for such acts. Such acts will bounce back and fall on the users itself. Destructively.

Changes in Media: Media has proliferated and made geography a history. We can see every place every country in T.V. / Internet. Check Google Earth!
Every thing that is being said in the name of Globalization owes its origin to Media proliferation. There has been an explosion in media. You can watch a live event at any place, anytime. Thanks to media. Also, this kind of speedy media news leads to cascading effects when anti social elements start getting into action. As media extends its reach, Humanity needs to be more careful than watchful

Entertainment: Eat, drink and be merry. All work and no play makes jack a dull boy. Now it is, just have fun! We have all the reasons to have fun, you have Internet, you have speedy bikes, pubs, discotheques, dance bars, sex on the net etc. etc. Every thing is available if you are willing to pay a price for it. Entertainment is the privilege you can have when you work hard and have it. It is the price you pay when you get success with short cuts. Remember, God has created human beings with head on the top to think first and then heart below to think of others as well. All organs below these two needs to be appeased only when the top bosses okay it. Have fun and enjoy it. Albeit, carefully if you deserve it.

Religion: Was always the inner garment for our inner body-The soul. But now it is more to do with charities, show of strength and even a most commonly used political weapon. Today elections are fought over religious beliefs. Mosques, temples and churches are built to show the strength of religion. That’s the gross misuse of religion. That’s why all the major religious places on earth are battlefields today. Remember, There is no one between God and you. And that, God is too big to live in statues and pictures. Let’s not treat God as per our convenience.

Eating habits, Thinking & morality: As a result of the disproportionate increase in population, advancement in lifestyles, science & society. The basic thoughts have changed. We have no problem to feast at the cost of someone’s life (being a non-veg), having drinks before our elders, have more fun than work. Our entire outlook towards life and how we live has changed. This has made us quite flexible. It is not just the advancement that is the real reason for all this. It has a lot to do with the excessive increase in human population that has led to inequalities. Which is the root cause of many evils in the nature & society. We need to control this unchecked problem with immediate effect or the nature will balance it the dinosaur way.
